King John MEME
I chose this quote because when King Richard went on a crusade, King John gained reign of England. He was a very bad king because he told lies, he put innocent people in prison so he could steal their belongings. He would promise anything to anybody, especially if there was money in it for him, but he would easily break his word. John also argued with the Pope over who should be Archbishop of Canterbury, and is also rumored to have murdered his nephew. That is how King John broke England.

The Magna Carta
The Magna Carta is a written document signed by King John which forced the king to agree that he did not have complete authority and had to obey all laws enforced by the government. The impact it had on the Middle Ages was for the King to obey the laws and the monarchy was forced to respect the common man, they couldn't simply kill you by edict anymore.

In the 10 commandments one of them is you shall not kill. Pope Urban is the one who started the Crusades.
The Crusades took place to spread Christianity to the east and to take the holy land from the Arabs. The consequences of the crusades are Christianity gained wealth and power, feudalism started to end, and the kings gained power.
